TOMATOES AND BASIL SAUCE


TOMATO AND BASIL SAUCE



One can (32 oz.) tomato sauce
10 leafs fresh basil
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
     Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons light cream cheese
1-cup chicken bouillon
1-teaspoon sugar or one envelope sugar substitute
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1-tablespoon garlic powder
     1-tablespoon dry oregano


Put tomato, basil, cheese and garlic powder in a blender and liquefy

Transfer to a pot over medium heat, add bouillon, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, oregano, and sugar, and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally



Can be used as a sauce, dip or enhancement for chicken dishes (parmesan, Florentine etc,) or seafood (baked salmon, white fish, tilapia etc.)

Save some Basil leaves for garnish
