MEAT SAUCE WITH PEES
ITALIAN
MEAT SAUCE ( Traditional )
1 pound
ground beef(optional chicken or pork )
1 onion
1 carrot
1 stick
celery
5 cloves
garlic
4 cups
chicken bouillon
1 cup
diced tomatoes
4 to 6
cups marinara sauce
3
tablespoons olive oil
1
tablespoon Italian seasoning
2
teaspoons sugar or sugar substitute
1 can
peas ( 8 1/2 oz. ) drained
1/2 cup
grated parmesan cheese
1
envelope Sazon ( seasoning )
Cut onion, carrot and celery in
small pieces and using a blender or a food processor blend until smooth. Add 1
tablespoon olive oil if too dry.
Heat 3 tablespoon olive oil over
medium heat; when hot stir in onion mix, 1 envelope of seasoning and cook for 5
minutes
Add meat, salt, pepper, seasoning
and cook 20 more minutes stirring constantly until meat is brown. If mixture
becomes to dry, add 1/2 cup of chicken bouillon
Add marinara sauce and
diced tomatoes, stir and cook 10 more minutes.
Add the peas, 2 cups of
bouillon and cook 10 more minutes
Add grated parmesan cheese
, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
This kind of sauce can be
used for lasagna, stuffed shells or just to add to your favorite pasta.
If refrigerated, divide
into portions.
